Joining a Body
The New Testament often uses the metaphor of the body to talk about the church. As believers in Jesus Christ, then, we are members of his body, or members of his church.
The local church is an expression of the universal church, so if we say that we are part of the body of Christ, then we must commit to be part of a local body of Christ.
Members of HMCC commit to one another as a local church by affirming our Membership Covenant at HMCC of Tangerang.
Step 1: Experiencing Membership Class
We invite you to sign-up for and attend the next available Experiencing Membership class, so that you can make an informed decision about whether you will commit to membership at HMCC or at another local church.
We offer Experiencing Membership class two times a year.
Step 2: Membership Interview
If you decide to move toward membership, you will then be interviewed by an elder, who will confirm your understanding of the Gospel, listen to your story of how you came to trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior, answer any questions you may have, and help you find opportunities to get connected at HMCC.
Step 3: Baptism (if needed)
If you have not yet been baptized as a believer, baptism is the next step to proceed toward covenant membership.
Step 4: New Members Recognition
If the elder recommends you for membership, then the final step is to participate in our New Members Recognition during our Sunday Celebration, where each person joining affirms our Membership Covenant at HMCC of Tangerang before the congregation and is officially received into membership at HMCC.
