Lent

This month will be the beginning of Lent, which is the 40 days (minus Sundays) before Easter.  Traditionally, the Church has used this time to fast and focus on Jesus’ death and resurrection as we approach Good Friday and Easter.  It’s a time where we’re intentionally remembering our own need for salvation and God’s amazing grace that has saved us. Lent will also be a great opportunity to continue growing in our hunger for God.

There won’t be any specific guidelines for fasting during Lent, but it will be based on our own personal conviction.  So if you want to fast from social media, meat, coffee, or something else, that’s up to you.  But more importantly, let’s make sure to not just fast but to also feast on Christ through set aside times in the Word and prayer.

Although there won’t be specific guidelines for the fast, there are a few topics I want to invite our whole church to be fasting and praying about during this Lent season.
